Stephen D. Christie

Alabama, U.S. District Courts for the Southern, Middle and Northern Districts of Alabama, the 11th Circuit court of Appeals and the U.S. Supreme Court.
STEPHEN D. CHRISTIE represents defendants in a wide range of tort, insurance and worker’s compensation matters. A very large part of his practice focuses on defense of employers in a wide range of employment related claims such as worker’s compensation, co-employee, retaliatory discharge, outrage and related matters. Mr. Christie also maintains an active practice in construction related claims, premises liability, products liability and the defense of insurers in various areas of coverage disputes.
Mr. Christie is a member of the Alabama State Bar, the Birmingham Bar Association and the Shelby County Bar Association. He has served on numerous committees of the Birmingham Bar Association and is a member of the Alabama Self Insurer’s Association, the Alabama Defense Lawyers Association and the Defense Research Institute.
Mr. Christie graduated from The University of the South, Sewanee in 1989 with a degree in political science. While at Sewanee he was a member of the Order of Gownsmen and served as President of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. He is a 1992 graduate of Cumberland School of Law and has been in private practice in Birmingham, Alabama since 1992.
